5. Roche Abbey Woodland Loop
- Description: Begin near Hellaby and follow well-used public footpaths alongside Oldcotes Dyke, skirting peaceful woodland edges. The path leads into the valley created by Roche Abbey, offering evocative views of historic ruins, riverside glades, and echoes of the medieval Abbey’s presence.
- Length: Approximately 3–4 miles (5–6 km), depending on the specific loop chosen and return path.
- Start / End: Start at a local access point near Hellaby Lane, Moor Lane South or White City. Follow footways into the Roche Abbey area and return via alternative bridleways or lanes back to Hellaby.
